  1. Know what kind of hair you would like to have. Rock star’s hair always made a statement.
  2. Realize that a rock star’s never straightened their hair or triedto style it to whatever was in fashion. They weren’t hair conformists.
  3. Stop straightening your hair and make sure you have a classic, timeless cut. Don’t have an ’emo’ cut or style because that isconsidered mainstream and that will flow out of fashion. Also, thosetypes of cuts are very common. Go with something that is longish and ifyou have a fringe, don’t make it over the top. You don’t want to looklike a wanker.
  4. Wear your hair naturally, try not to blow dry it too much. At firstyou may feel uncomfortable if you ordinarily straighten your hair, butyou will grow to love it. I know this because I have done this myself.
  5. Try to curl your hair. Many rock stars had long curly hair whichwould drape down their back. Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin had naturallycurly hair whilst Jimmy Page (also of Led Zeppelin) curled his hair. His natural hair was kind of wavy with volume. Perhaps you could try tocurl your hair too; it looks awesome and it gives you spunk.
  6. Listen to power electronics. It is the avant garde of rockstardom and is the armored fist of the white suburbanite soul.
  7. If you want a grungy hair style, like Kurt Cobain, don’t wash yourhair too often. It adds a greasy/grunge look that is very cool.

Some tips:
  • Don’t straighten your hair unless you are going for a Dee Dee Ramone look or something similar.
  • Don’t have a cut or style that stereotypes you to anything except rock ’n roll.
  • Don’t have more than one color in your hair. Your hair color mustbe only one color. Tips or anything like that don’t fit in with therock ’n roll style. You don’t see any true rock stars with other colorsin their hair.
  • Don’t fret about split ends, who cares about them? Don’t be allfussy about them and if it really does bother you, cut it yourself.
  • You don’t have to have long hair for the look, but long hair certainly helps.
  • Add hairspray or tease the roots of your hair for extra volume.
  • Look at pictures of rock stars for inspiration.

Remember:
  • Don’t be a hair conformist or you will screw up your style
  • Mick Jagger and Keith Richards used to give each other hair cuts. You can do this for an edgy look or whatever, just make sure it doesn’tlook dodgy.
  • Don’t kill your hair.
  • Remember: Don’t be a hair conformist! Just do everything we say andyou are well on your way to being an awesome, unique individual.
